2015 Victorian Country Short Course Swimming ChampionshipsYarrawonga Mulwala Swimming Club was represented by 6 swimmers at the 2015 Victorian Country Short Course Championships held at Ballarat on the 22 and 23 August 2015. The weekend started with the swimmers having a warm up in Ballarat’s new $14 million Indoor Aquatic Centre on the Friday night. The club was privileged to be able to conduct a session with no other swimmers in the new centre. Results from the meet were fantastic with the swimmers competing in a total of 17 events and achieving 16 personal best (PB) times. This was more than any other Ovens and Murray Swimming Club. Head Coach Lyndon Hart stated “I am thrilled with the results from the meet and to have 94% of swims a PB time is a credit to the swimmers and their strength both mentally and physically.” “There were many highlights of the meet including the encouragement swimmers gave each other and Hugh Mullins swimming a seven second PB in the 100m Freestyle in his last event on Sunday afternoon,” said Lyndon. Swimmers are now back in the water training and developing their technique with the aim of qualifying for the 2016 Victorian Country Long Course Championships in January 2016, which are being held in Bendigo.
